この部活には「コンクール前にペアの後輩にハンカチーフを渡す」という慣習があり、私も憧れの先輩から名前の刺繍が入ったハンカチーフをいただきました。「慣れない中で一生懸命、部活終わりにも練習していたの見てたよ。パートのメンバーとも距離を縮めるために頑張ったね」と言葉もかけてもらいました。
本番はいただいたハンカチーフを膝の上に置いて自信をもって楽しく演奏することができました。

In this club, there is a custom of "giving handkerchiefs to paired juniors before a competition," and I received a handkerchief with my name embroidered on it from a senior whom I admired. They said, "I saw how hard you worked, even though you were not used to it, and how you practiced even at the end of club activities. I also received words of encouragement, "You worked hard to get closer to the members of your part".
I was able to perform happily and confidently with the handkerchief on my lap during the performance.
